When we were sat around our office thinking about who should grace our next cover (both digital and physical) it just had to be Joey Badass - and for multiple reasons.
Time. This was our main reason. Many may not know this as we blew up around 4 years ago, but Outlander Magazine is 10 years old, but, unlike many of our counterparts who we’ve seen come and go, we've stood the test of time thanks to our audience and we are only stronger since the day we started. Hence why Joey was perfect for us and why we let G-SHOCK get involved, as what better indicator of time would one need?
Early in the Summer, We took Joey to a house in Brooklyn that was already beautifully laid out with rooms ready to be photographed in. Donning several Full-set outfits that have recently become his trademark, we decided to let our brilliant stylist duo Marquise and Aaron (who are also Joeys Longtime personal stylists) get a feel for the energy in each room and choose the outfits accordingly.
In the below image we had Joey in a full Kenzo FW24 Look - KENZO being another long time partner of ours who has shown support and adoration toward Outlander from the very beginning, so it was only right. This almost modern take on a chequered suit worked perfectly against the deep hues of blue and green on the wall behind him and really captured what we stand for at Outlander, that's why this image is also our Hero image and cover.
