This year marks the introduction of Nike’s latest Air Max silhouette, the Air Max Dn. As a new generational design in the Nike Air franchise, the Dn is bolder, slicker, and more innovative than its iconic predecessors.
It’s hard to imagine a city without Nike Air, when Air Max has been so deeply ingrained in culture across the past four decades, surpassing its roots in running to making strides in underground scenes and dominating street style.
From Liverpool where the 95s reign supreme, to Paris where the TN is King, the movement of Air is strictly cultural. It can be traced from Virgil Abloh’s iconic 10 to the glaring Corteiz symbol projected on Nike Town London, fuelled by a need to lead and innovate.
Through the introduction of Dynamic Air, Air Max Dn reimagines the future of Nike Air, raising the benchmark of Air with every step, unlocking the feeling that anything is possible. For the launch of the new Nike Air Max Dn, we put an Outlander twist on the “Dn” - creating a series of acronym situations that reflect the day-to-day hustles of the up-and-coming designers, musicians and all-round creatives in our Outlander community.
Following the release of his highly successful mixtape DND, we brought Dynamic Air to Nemzzz’s world, with Nike Air powering him and the Lost Boyz to win in a range of Dn inspired scenarios.
In the series, with the Dn’s on his feet, Nemzzz navigates the fraught tensions of negotiations for his upcoming album with a humble self-assuredness that never sees him fold. As an independent artist, Nemzzz stands on his own two feet (with a little bit of help from his Dn mascot reminding him not to concede) and in the end, teaches us all an important fixture of the culture - Don’t Negotiate.
The reality of the hustle can be hectic and ugly at times, with the Day and Night grind often the lifestyle of a young creative – embodying endless workstreams, emails, calls, and meetings. Powered by Dynamic Air, Nemzzz is able to take charge of a back-to-back day in comfort and style, crossing his t’s and dotting his i’s against all odds.
Reflecting on hitting a milestone is equally as important as time on the grind. Like many of our Outlanders who have often feel anxious and uncertainty, sometimes there isn’t time to celebrate the pivotal moments. In the final Dn scenario, Dynamic Air draws Nemzzz to reflect on trusting his intuition and reap the rewards of another successful Drop Night.
Powered by Dynamic Air, Nemzzz charts unfamiliar territory feet first, locking into his grind with a masterful focus. The dynamism of Air isn’t just on his feet or the world around him, it’s unlocked by his own moves.
