Crocs has been having a proper moment for a while now, but its latest EXP chapter feels like the brand stepping into a slightly different room and making itself very comfortable there.
This week, we got a first look inside the Crocs showroom, where the brand is previewing what comes next for EXP and giving the debut EXP H127 silhouettes their first proper outing. It is Crocs, but not quite as you know it. Still easy, still comfy, still built around that slightly odd charm that made people fall in love with the brand in the first place, but sharper, more technical and a bit more grown up.

EXP first arrived as Crocs’ space to play around with shape, material and function. Now, according to Mike Wade, VP of Global Category Management, it feels like the idea has settled into itself. “In the beginning, EXP was about discovery,” he says. “As it’s matured, the biggest shift has been clarity.” That pretty much sums up the energy of the showroom. It does not feel like Crocs trying things on for the sake of it. It feels like Crocs working out exactly where it wants to go next.
The new H127 silhouettes sit right at the centre of that shift. They bring a more purposeful design language into the Crocs world, taking the familiar comfort and ease of the brand and pushing it into something more layered. The shapes are bolder, the builds feel more considered and the whole thing has that outdoors meets city feel that has become such a big part of EXP. You can still see the Crocs DNA in there, but it has been tightened up, toughened up and given a bit more attitude.
That balance is important. Crocs is one of those brands people have a real connection with, partly because the product is so instantly recognisable and partly because it has never really asked anyone to dress a certain way. You make Crocs your own. EXP keeps that spirit intact, but starts playing with what the brand can become when you add more technical construction, premium materials and a stronger design point of view.

Mike puts it simply. EXP is not about walking away from what made Crocs successful. It is about evolving it with purpose. Comfort, function and self expression are still the foundation. The difference now is that Crocs is asking how far those ideas can be pushed without losing the thing that made the brand feel so personal in the first place.
That comes through in the wider EXP line too. The Classic EXP Clog gets reworked with Vibram, bringing extra traction and durability to one of the most recognisable shoes on the planet. The Quick Trail Racer leans into outdoor energy with bungee toggles, ripstop uppers and a Croslite frame built for movement. The Trailbreak 2 brings back a Crocs archive piece from 2010 and gives it a modern rebuild, while styles like the Tembo II, Gallery Tech and Terre Tech stretch the idea of what Crocs footwear can look like even further.

The H127 debut feels like another step in that same direction. Not a gimmick, not a trend grab, but a sign that Crocs is getting more confident in this lane. The colours are grounded, the shapes do a lot of talking and the details feel more intentional than loud. There are nods to outdoor gear, performance footwear and Crocs’ own archive, but nothing feels too forced. It is still playful, just with a bit more discipline.
What makes EXP interesting is that it does two jobs at once. On one hand, it gives Crocs a premium platform for the people who are already deep in the brand. On the other, it changes the way people look at Crocs altogether. Mike describes it as both a pinnacle product expression and a space that can influence the broader brand. In other words, this is where Crocs gets to test the future before the future starts showing up everywhere else.
And honestly, that is what makes the showroom feel exciting. Crocs is not trying to pretend it is something completely different. It knows the clog, the comfort, the weirdness and the personality are all part of the magic. EXP just asks what happens when you take that magic seriously.
With the debut of the EXP H127 silhouettes, Crocs is showing that its next chapter is not just about making bolder shoes. It is about making shoes with more intention, more range and more confidence. Still unmistakably Crocs, just with a sharper eye on where the brand goes next.
