Crocs has never really played it safe, but with the EXP line it feels like the brand is actively trying to push itself into new territory. The latest move comes in the form of the Classic EXP Clog, a silhouette that keeps the familiar ease people come to Crocs for, but toughens it up in a way that feels genuinely considered rather than just cosmetic.

At the centre of it all is the sole. For the first time ever, Crocs is bringing in Vibram, which is one of those names that actually means something when you’re talking about performance. This isn’t just a visual upgrade. The custom Vibram rubber outsole completely shifts how the shoe behaves underfoot, giving it proper multi surface grip and a level of durability that feels built for more than just pavement. It is designed to respond to uneven ground, hold steady when things get unpredictable, and still stay comfortable through it all.

The specific compound used here is Vibram XS TREK EVO, which is essentially the latest evolution of a material already known for balancing traction and longevity. In practice, that means you get a sole that grips without feeling heavy, and holds up without losing flexibility. It is the kind of detail that quietly changes how and where you can wear something like this.

Up top, things stay true to what makes Crocs work in the first place. The fit and feel remain familiar, but underfoot there is a noticeable step forward. The advanced foam midsole brings an ultra lightweight footbed with real bounce to it, giving you that responsive energy return that makes long days feel easier. It is soft without feeling flimsy, and resilient enough to keep its shape over time.

What makes the Classic EXP Clog interesting is how all of this comes together. It does not try to reinvent Crocs entirely. Instead it sharpens the edges, adds purpose, and leans into a more utility driven mindset. That is really the point of EXP as a whole. It is where Crocs experiments with its most unconventional ideas, blending bold design with function in a way that feels a bit more future facing.

And this is just the start. The EXP line is set to become the brand’s space for premium materials and more elevated builds throughout 2026, so this drop feels like an opening statement rather than a one off.

The Classic EXP Clog lands globally on April 23 for $85 via Crocs and select retailers, with an early preview hitting the SoHo store in New York on April 16. If this is the direction Crocs is heading, things are about to get a lot more interesting.
